SeeClickFix sees 660 request in its first year

Durango, CO:  The City of Durango received 660 requests through its public online reporting tool SeeClickFix in 2023. In its first year SeeClickFix has allowed staff to help address everything from abandoned vehicles to submitting a public comment.

The top request for assistance filed by residents was unsanctioned camping, with 186 requests. Following that was, Other with 95 requests, Abandoned Vehicle with 62 requests, Potholes with 40 requests, and Snow Removal with 62.

The city’s top three request categories have an average time to acknowledge of around one day on average. Those average response times can be attributed to the diligence of Code Enforcement Officer Steve Barkley and his team.

The city added this service in January 2023. The portal allows anyone to report quality-of-life issues around town and request city services. Residents can interact with city staff through the free SeeClickFix mobile app or web tool, by providing staff with pictures, specific locations, and descriptions of things around the city that need fixing.

“SeeClickFix, along with our expansion of public outreach through the city’s Connect and Engage platform, enables city staff to implement our strategic goal of engaged and collaborative governance,” said Tom Sluis, public information officer for the city.
