[ARCHIVED] Durango Public Works to offer bonuses to snowplow operators

Snowplow Drivers Wanted

Durango Public Works is seeking snowplow operators to join our team that helps keep our roadways safe and is offering monthly bonuses of up to $500 during the winter months.

“Public Safety is Job #1 for our Streets Division. Maintaining safe roads for first responders, school busses and workplace access is the focus of our initial snow response,” said Allison Baker, Public Works Director. “We rely on skilled Street Operators with CDL qualifications, covering our snowplow operations 24/7 to ensure that the City is in the best of hands during snow events.”

The snowplow driver bonus initiative is as follows:

  • $500 per month bonus payment made after the end of the month in which the operator was available each time as requested to plow.
  • Program is only available to those holding a valid CDL License.

Full-time City employees are eligible for many benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement benefits and other city perks. The base wage for an operator is $20.26/hour.

Both new and current snowplow drivers will be eligible for the bonus.
